Changing the Basic Settings in Blogger

Inside the Basic settings of your Blogger Blog, you can change the name of your blog (referred to here as a blog tittle) and give it a short description.  Most templates you use will put this description somewhere near the top of your page.

Here's how to access the Basic settings:

1.  Head over to the Dashboard of your Blogger and click on the 'Settings' tab of the left panel.

 

There are a few options here, but by default, clicking Settings will take you to the Basic tab first.

2.  Edit the Title and Description.

3.  Head to the bottom of the page and click 'Save'.

Blogger will re-load the screen and confirm that the new changes have taken effect.

One of the most interesting settings on this page is the 'Show Email Post Links'.  Changing this option to 'Yes' adds an email icon to each blog post, allowing readers to email the post to friends or people they think would find it interesting.  This is a great help for your readers and ideally will let you get a lot more readers as time goes on.

BELOW IS A WARNING.

At the bottom of the Basic Settings page, there is a seriously dangerous button: Delete This Blog.  If you ever want to delete and get rid of everything you have written from the Internet - words, images, posts, everything - click here.  If you do not, then stay away.
