Facebook and the Web


Facebook's Groups, Events and Photos are just a small way you can use Facebook to connect with people.  We'll talk more in detail about Facebook as a platform, but, in short, Facebook is a service you can you to connect and communicate with people you know.  Companies can use the Facebook Platform to build websites or applications that can allow Events, Groups and/or Photos.   They are the tools that are build onto the Facebook Platform.  They are the method by which people can share information and communicate

What’s a URL?

A URL is simply a website’s “address”, the one the appears in the white bar at the top of your browser.  As for pronunciation, some people say each initial separately (“you are ell“), and others pronounce it like a word (“earl“).  Either is correct.  OR you could impress your friends and call it a Uniform Resource Locator, which is what it stands for.

What is HTML?

HTML files are really nothing more than text files in another language, designed to be understood and used by an Internet Browser.  HTML tells your browser everything it needs to know: for example, it will have instructions for every kind of browser about where to find images that need to be displayed on the page, how any text on the page should look, and what the text will link to in a hyperlink.

Plan Events with Facebook
