Editing Templates by Hand: Introduction to Coding

If you are getting started as a Blogger, but also happen to know a bit about Web Design, and you want to start sinking your code into Blogger itself, you can.

To see your blog as code head to the Blogger Dashboard and Click on Template -> Edit HTML.

2018 Note: In an update to Blogger Dashboard, you can now head over Theme -> Edit HTML.

You can edit the HTML code in two different ways:

1.  Edit the HTML directly within the Blogger Dashboard.
This is helpful for editing on the go, and lets you make quick changes or edits, previewing and saving the code as you go.

2.  Download the Template to your computer.
Just click 'Save Theme' above and you can edit the code in your HTML editor of choice.  Simple Upload your new template when finished.

Both of these approaches really require you know a good bit about both HTML and CSS and the tyou understand Blogger's own approach to coding and styling.
