    People vs Big Data


    So, Big Data is something of a buzzword at the moment, kind of a nebulous, dark, cloudy new piece of jargon people love to throw around.  At Human Element - parent company of The Art of Blogging - we tend to focus part of our attention on digesting that Big Data, and we use it to create 'smart data' - something that our digital marketing team can take actionable steps with.  There's a lot more data at our fingertips now then ever before, coming from consumers, 3rd party sources, retailers and even government.  It's the job of digital marketers - and to an extent bloggers - to figure out how to apply that data to impact consumers and their daily lives.

    Human Element takes it's name from a simple idea: Never forget the human connection.  That means to both the customer, client and to our analysts who take data and make the marketing part of our digital world work.  They have a unique skillset and one that is increasingly relevant in our new data-driven industry.

    What does this have to do with Blogging?

    Ok, well, Blogging was all about content 5 years ago.  In the past couple years, however, content creation has shifted to include publicizing your own work and that means marketing it.  While it is our hope NOT to turn this into a Digital Marketing industry blog - you can find that on [HE] - it is important to get into discussing how that world and the world of big data now impacts workflow, content, and work of a blogger.
