Where Magazine wowed us, Mosaic thrilled us.  While not a great option for word-y blogs, any photographers or the portfolio-minded amongst us should consider this theme to show off the best of what blogger offers

It can get a little messy, but for photography blogs, or portfolio sites, this is an ideal template, letting you showcase your work in images first.  No titles, just the art.

Hovering over a post gives the reader the title, and a comment bubble.  Clicking zooms into the post, and pushes all other posts down to below the jump.  It's neat, it's clean.  It's a great option.
